20 Pax (including1 2.0) posted in relatively cool but muggy 74 degree weather for the third and last day of spaceflight week. Warmups were all done to rep counts of 11, as there were 11 manned Apollo missions as part of the moon program.
Thereafter, it was an old-school Friday run (pearls on a string). Mosey started out with stops as follows:
- Merkins and dollies
- 4-count (slow) squats
- Boat-canoe, SSH, mountain climbers (turn around here, at the Dollar Tree)
- Bonnie Blairs and bear crawl across the bridge
- Hammers and hand-release merkins
- Pull-ups and dips
Pax then returned to the flag for the moment everyone was waiting for —12 burpees , as 12 individuals have walked on the moon (and YHC simply cannot Q a workout without burpees). The last few minutes were taken up by some Mary, with more hammers, more boat canoe, box cutters, and happy babies.
Countarama and namearama. Pledge, prayer for Quikrete’s uncle who passed away from cancer, and dismissed. Norm has theme week next week.
IMHO theme week is a great idea—it’s a challenge to come up with multiple workouts, tying them together and somehow keeping a theme in it. It’s a good tradition to keep going…
